Won For: Best Adapted Screenplay Why does that unholy maelstrom of things sound like they'd make such a great film? Criticisms of The Big Short should have been limited to the occasionally horrific editing or the insanely off-putting musical cues: the fact that it won a writing award is actually proof that the substance of the narrative wasn't bad at all.
