12 Horrific Horror Movie Deaths You’ve (Probably) Never Seen
Where puking your guts up isn't a figure of speech.
Part of the appeal of horror movies is getting to live out our darkest fears from the safety of the sofa. We’ll never be chased by a horde of vampires or a hulking, immortal serial killer – hopefully not, anyway – but it sure is fun to watch.
Gory death scenes are a natural by-product of the genre too, and it would downright disappointing if a zombie movie didn’t feature one or two dismemberments. The best horror movie deaths can easily be found in creative YouTube montages, but there remains some unsung but equally horrifying deaths to be found in lesser known movies.
These are horror films that barely got released, or bombed badly before disappearing into the mists of time. Some are quite good, whilst others deserve to be forgotten, but they all contain horrific deaths that you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.
Let’s take a look at some, and examine why they’re so damn unpleasant; and fair warning, a strong stomach is advised from this moment on...
12. Extreme Face Lift - Dagon
Stuart Gordon previously adapted the works of H.P. Lovecraft with Re-Animator and From Beyond, so when Dagon was announced fans were expecting good times. Sadly it’s one of his weaker efforts, featuring a nerdy guy trapped in an isolated village where the locals are actually fish monsters in disguise.
Gordon does manage to wring some true moments of horror out of it, including the sickening scene where the old man who helped the hero earlier has the skin peeled off his face, whilst still alive.
The make-up and sound effects combine with actors performance to make this truly unpleasant to witness, and if anyone remembers Dagon today chances are it’s for this rather icky moment.
