12 Iconic Story-Lines DC Film Universe Must Adapt Next

2. Court Of Owls

Whilst they've not officially confirmed it yet, it's only a matter of time before Warner Bros make another Batman movie. They've been good to let things cool a little after Christopher Nolan's epic Dark Knight trilogy wrapped up but, sooner or later, they're gonna have to let the Bat fly again. Ben Affleck is so far only on board for Dawn Of Justice and those Justice League films but, well, it would be silly to have an actor and character that big and not give him his own go-around. No Man's Land is an admittedly huge undertaking, and one that had major repercussions for the DC universe as a whole in the comics. If that's a little too epic in scope for a single Batman movie to tackle, there's another €“ and more recent €“ comic book storyline about a Dark Knight who's a few years into his career, only to have the rug pulled from under him. The wider Bat Family are included, but Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Court Of Owls arc is mostly Bruce Wayne solo €“ exploring the character's psyche, having been Batman for a while, as he discovers a hidden side to the City he thought he knew like the back of his hand. Turns out a shadowy group of immortal assassins might have controlled Gotham all along...and had a hand in his parent's murder. Intrigue! Twists! High stakes! Action scenes!
