12 Images That Will Restore Your Faith In Upcoming Movies
7. Slappy Returns - Goosebumps
Why We're Worried: A big-budget adaptation of R.L. Stine's classic children's horror novel series, directed by Rob "Gulliver's Travels" Letterman, written by a guy whose movie credits include Shrek Forever After, Jack the Giant Slayer and Turbo, and starring Jack Black as Stine? It doesn't exactly sound like a recipe for a hit. Why This Image Rocks: If there's one Goosebumps villain who absolutely, undeniably needed to end up in the movie, it's Slappy the Dummy, the villainous toy who first appeared in Stine's book Night of the Living Dummy. Thankfully, Slappy is visible in the trailer for a second or two, and combined with reports that he is in fact the movie's main antagonist, provides a little hope that the film will be somewhat reverent to the source material. So, it's got one creative decision right: time to see if it can nail anything else.
