12 Images That Will Restore Your Faith In Upcoming Movies

6. Insane Visuals - The Martian

Why We're Worried: Ridley Scott is one of the most frustratingly inconsistent directors working today, and it's fair to say that his last decade of films in particular have been rather disappointing for the most part. So, even though Scott's working from an acclaimed novel for his latest sci-fi epic, isn't there still a chance that he'll again squander an excellent cast and make for a thoroughly underwhelming outing? Why This Image Rocks: Though, in fairness, this image doesn't say much about the movie's content or story, it does demonstrate one thing: this is probably going to be Scott's best-looking film since Blade Runner. The visual effects and general cinematography are nothing short of stunning, and it seems likely that even if the film has its narrative issues, it's going to crank the aesthetic grandeur up to 11, which should totally soften the blow. It's fine to be skeptical of Scott, but it seems tremendously unlikely that The Martian will fail as a visceral experience above all else.
