12 Incredible Endings To Otherwise Terrible Movies

3. Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith (2005)

Star Wars Episode 3 Mustafar

For all of the missteps in the Prequel trilogy - and particularly in Revenge Of The Sith - there's a lot to admire about the climactic battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker against the fiery backdrop of Mustafar.

Up to that point, the film mostly fails to live up to expectations thanks to a curious lack of emotional and dramatic weight and way too much pointless distraction along the way. And it's easy to think about how much of a slog the movies are in getting to that one dramatic reveal where we discover how Anakin became Darth Vader.

But if you take the Mustafar battle on its own, it's some of the finest Star Wars film-making: it is dramatic and theatrical and you truly believe the emotions - partly because Hayden Christensen is uncharacteristically great. It is the crowning moment on an occasionally wayward trilogy and it goes some way to redeeming some of the trash that precedes it. Some of it.
