12 Live-Action Anime Projects You Didn’t Know Were Happening

10. One Punch Man

Netflix Mobile Suit Gundam
Madhouse

Are you tired of superhero movies yet? No? What about deliberately subversive superhero projects? No? Well, then, here's some good news for you as One Punch Man, the seminal modern anime that laughs at the world of super-powered beings, is on its way to getting a live-action movie adaptation. That's going to be interesting, to say the least.

For those unfamiliar, One Punch Man does exactly what it says on the tin, as it follows a superhero so powerful he can finish any fight with just one punch. It sounds like it would get old quickly, but the series is excessively good at upping the ante and keeping things fun.

This proposed adaptation would need to be handled by someone experienced in over-the-top action, which is why it's exciting to hear that Justin Lin (of Fast & Furious fame) has been tapped for the director's chair. Still, even with those credentials, the irreverent world of OPM will be very tough to bring to life.

On one final note, this one isn't coming at the hands of Netflix but rather Sony. Hallelujah!
