12 Marvel Characters You Didn't Notice Are Already In The MCU

10. Doc Samson - The Incredible Hulk

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness The Living Tribunal
Marvel Studios

In the comics, Doctor Leonard Samson was a psychoanalyst who used gamma radiation to cure Betty Ross after she was turned into a crystal. (Typical storyline in the world of comics.)

Curious of the Hulk's power, Samson exposed himself to the radiation, transforming himself into a green-haired, gamma-powered superhero. He may have been at odds with the Hulk upon their first encounter, but the pair quickly became friends, and Samson is now regarded as one of Hulk's most loyal allies.

So, if he's been a key player in Hulk comics for over 40 years, why hasn't appeared in the MCU?

However, Samson appeared in one of the earliest films in the franchise. Although some people would like to pretend The Incredible Hulk film never happened, it's a part of the series, and it was the live-action debut of Doc Samson, played by Modern Family's Ty Burrell.

If you are wondering why you don't recall the character, he only appeared for a few seconds and he wasn't rocking his luscious green locks. (And if you haven't seen the movie since it came out 14 years ago, it'd be a miracle if you remembered him.)
