Although DC stars have stirred the studio rivalry a little, it's so far been a very amicable state of affairs between all the superhero movie producers, with compliments rather than barbs being traded. Deadpool changed that. Ryan Reynolds has opened a whole new lease of life for the cinematic superhero with his R-rated box office smash, and he's done so while taking several swipes at Marvel themselves; there's the mocking of the post-credits scene convention, as well as jabs at cliches like the superhero landing and even a pilfered helicarrier. It would really only be fair if Marvel repaid the favour and dug into Fox. Now they could go obvious - Fant4stic jokes write themselves - but doing it without being cheesy will be hard (and having something churlish like Star-Lord wink to the camera is a big no-no). Instead, they should take the fight directly to Deadpool and highlight the movie Merc's limitations. Having a cameo from someone like Bob, Agent of HYDRA - who was alluded to in the film - would manage to attack Deadpool (wish as they might, Fox can't use the name HYDRA) within the logical confines of the universe. Now that's smart.
