12 Marvel Mistakes Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Must Avoid

10. Relentless Comedy At Drama's Expense

The MCU has built a successful franchise on balancing its tone between drama and comedy, with that balance leaning more towards the latter than the former, arguably more than it should.

Age of Ultron was probably the most egregious example of this, with Joss Whedon's script so filled with snarky quips that it distracted from the action and suspense, and basically made the whole film feel massively inconsequential.

Guardians is probably one of the funnier movies in the MCU, and while the movie didn't exactly have much in the way of high-drama, it didn't feel totally weightless either, perhaps because the movie did such a great job developing its title characters and giving them sympathetic, oddly relatable backstories.

As such, it's easy to have faith that this will be on area where the movie will probably be just fine...but then we all said the same thing about Age of Ultron prior to its release...
