12 Marvel Mistakes Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Must Avoid
9. Weak Female Characters
Female characters are a pretty dicey subject in the MCU, largely being designated as love interests or damsels in distress.
Sure, there's Black Widow, but she's definitely a lesser Avenger and still hasn't gotten her own solo movie, while Scarlet Witch has yet to come into her own despite tons of promise. Pepper Potts was pretty good, but now she's gone, so that's the end of that.
This is without even mentioning the worse likes of Jane Foster, Darcy, the painfully sidelined Sif and Doctor Strange's barely-figures Christine Palmer (so forgettable you probably won't even remember her name).
Guardians fared pretty well here also, what with Gamora getting a large, central role, Nebula being a solid supporting villain and the plot focusing on Star-Lord's relationship with his late mother.
With GOTG2 bringing Nebula back (apparently as a member of the team) alongside new female characters Mantis and Ayesha, it seems like the movie shouldn't want for interesting women. Hopefully.
