12 Marvel Movies You Didn't Know Were Secretly Connected

In the early 2000s, the highest-rated Marvel movies were Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002) and the X-Men (2000). These two movies helped set the tone for future comic book blockbusters and paved the way for the MCU.

During an interview with The Huffington Post in 2013, Hugh Jackman revealed that he was supposed to have a walk-on cameo in the first Spider-Man film. It's safe to say fans' minds would have been blown, as at the time as the idea of multiple heroes existing within the same world was a mere fantasy.

Unfortunately, there was one slight problem: no-one could find Hugh Jackman's Wolverine costume, so the cameo fell through.

If this cameo had happened, comic book movies as we know them might have changed irrevocably as two of Marvel's most famous characters would have existed within the same world long before the MCU would attempt the same thing in 2008. Fans can only ponder as to how Fox and Sony would have carried on forward with the possibility of an interconnected universe, but alas, fans will have to wait until the MCU decides to debut the X-Men for the two to eventually meet.
