Captain America: The Winter Soldier introduced Brock Rumlow, a SHIELD agent who works with Cap on black-book missions.

He may come across as an ally to our heroes at first but anyone who's read the comics knew he was up to no good since Rumlow is better-known as Red Skull's lead henchman, Crossbones. Even though he has no superpowers, the deadly mercenary is among the most proficient fighters in the world. In fact, he's one of the few people that has defeated Captain America in a fight.

Although we don't see much of Rumlow in the film, fans were relieved when he returned in Captain America: Civil War. But after a brief scuffle, Crossbones bites the dust in the film's opening scene. Considering this guy has faced off against America's most patriotic superhero in the comics for 30 years, you'd assume he would've put up more of a fight.

In his defence, Crossbones is integral to the plot since the explosion he sets off is the catalyst for the entire story's conflict. Nevertheless, it would've been nice to see more of him.
