The Role: Bradley Bradshaw, the son of Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards) from the original Top Gun, who of course perished tragically during a training exercise. Bradshaw will spend the movie being trained by Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise).

Why You Should Be Excited: There's a lot of unjustified hate for Miles Teller, but he's proven himself to be a solid acting talent in the likes of Whiplash, War Dogs, Bleed for This, Thank You for Your Service and Only the Brave.

There's a ton of potential in Teller sharing the screen with Cruise, especially if the script focuses on their clashing, cocky personalities and the inevitable drama surrounding Goose's death.

Though there's every possibility this is just a cornball victory lap for the original movie - and honestly, that might be just what this film needs to be - it should be fun seeing Teller and Cruise sparring verbally on-screen (and eventually bro-ing out, of course).
