12 Most Brutal Acts Of Revenge In Movies
3. Concrete - Vendetta (2013)
Before Danny Dyer's dismal decision to join the cast of soap opera EastEnders, his filmography, though narrow, was satisfying. From 2004's The Football Factory to 2009's Malice in Wonderland, the London-born actor has taken the lead role in a multitude of British crime movies, and in 2013 (the same year as his debut in Albert Square) his role in revenge flick Vendetta was nothing out of the ordinary.
What was out of the ordinary, however, was the brutality of some of the film's killings. Dyer plays a Spec Ops officer, Jimmy Vickers, who's family have been murdered by a local gang. Vickers sets out to avenge their deaths by sequentially taking down those responsible, often is the most brutal way possible.
Perhaps the most brutal of all is a scene involving Vickers, a gang member and a sizeable bucket of concrete. Taunting his victim with a lesson in the binding nature of cement, Vickers pours the entire bucket down the man's throat, clamping his mouth in place to do so.
Police arrive at the scene the morning after, with the glaring sunlight showcasing the viciousness of the revenge method. It's creative I'll give him that.
