12 Most Divisive Movies Of 2018
5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is one of the weirdest blockbusters to release this year. Although it initially looked like a retread of the original movie, what with a return to the titular park and the promise of yet another genetically-enhanced dinosaur wreaking havoc, the end result couldn't have been more different.
In fact, the park itself is destroyed by the end of the first act, with the rest of the action taking place back in a stately home on American soil. The premise is kind of great, as the surviving dinosaurs are shipped there in secret to be sold off to the highest bidder. Of course, they don't stay contained for long, and the final act is closer to a slasher film than Jurassic Park.
The problem is, while the director promised a full-on horror movie before the sequel came out, the final product is far too silly to sustain any real threat. Still, some enjoyed the change of pace, as well as the final scene which teased dinosaurs and humans living together in movie three. Others viewed the sequel as a huge jumping the shark move however, and felt the series had lost what made that first film so special.
