12 Most Epic Godzilla Battles

5. Godzilla Vs Everyone - Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)

Godzilla vs Kong
Toho

For the 50-year anniversary of Godzilla, Toho went all out with Godzilla: Final Wars; a movie that boasts a whopping 20 monsters. Hedorah, Ebirah, Gimantis, Manda; this entry has it all. After an alien compels kaiju to lay waste upon populated cities, Godzilla is awoken to take them all out.

Although having Godzilla fighting one monster after the other can be repetitive in concept, the movie works because no two fights are the same. Spiga fights him with paralysing webs, Gigan tries to dismember Godzilla by dragging him into his buzzsaw-chest, and King Caesar kicks Anguirus at Godzilla like a football. It's absolutely nuts but it's expected at this point.

Unsurprisingly, the final battle has Godzilla facing his nemesis, Ghidorah. The three-headed dragon leads the fight for the most part but Godzilla gains the upper hand when he tricks Ghidorah to blast off one of his own heads.

The most satisfying moment in the film is when the titular character fights the monster from Roland Emmerich's Godzilla. Toho hated that movie so much, they referred to the monster as "Zilla" because he took the "God" out of "Godzilla". To highlight how much they despised it, Godzilla defeats Zilla in five seconds.
