4. Cowardly Lion Costume

Sold for: $3,000,000 At almost twice the price of the Do Re Mi collection, the costume worn by Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard Of Oz represents a whole new league of prop and memorabilia collecting. The costume was discovered carefully stored in one of the oldest buildings on the MGM lot, and was sold complete with a photo-realistic sculpture of Lahr's head for an enormous seven-digit price. The inordinate sum paid for the costume is perhaps attributed to the fact that the character is one of the most endearing in the film; The Cowardly Lion is someone that - let's be honest - we can all relate to.
