12 Most F*cked Up Movie Marketing Campaigns

8. The Last Exorcism Of Chatroulette

Back at the height of its popularity, there was only one real reason people went on Chatroulette (hint: it wasn€™t just to meet new and interesting people) and the marketing team behind 2010 horror The Last Exorcism perfectly exploited that fact. By using a pretty actress and a pre-made video of her seductively unbuttoning her top, the campaign lulled Chatroulette users into thinking they were getting the webcam chat of their lives when €“ BLAM! €“ she starts to mutate into a demonic creature before leaping at the camera screaming, destroying at least that evening€™s masturbation session for many young men. A compilation video of the funniest reactions was uploaded to YouTube and got one million hits within 72 hours of posting, so a successful campaign but a bit cruel nonetheless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNSaurw6E_Q
