12 Most F*cked Up Movie Marketing Campaigns

5. KILL IT WITH FIRE - Devil€™s Due

Maybe the marketers behind found footage horror Devil€™s Due knew they€™d have a hard time promoting the film when cinemagoers realised it was basically a poor man€™s Rosemary€™s Baby rip-off, or maybe they€™re just a weird bunch, but either way they certainly raised a few eyebrows with their viral video campaign. Using a remote-controlled pushchair rigged up with an animatronic devil doll designed to pop up, scream and projectile vomit at passers-by in New York, they had half the city convinced they were witnessing the second coming of Satan. The ensuing video got over 4.8 million views on YouTube in one day and no doubt helped the film€™s moderate but surprising box office turnout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoxXMy-NStk
