12 Most Horribly Disappointing Horror Movie Villain Reveals
7. The Snowman
The film tells the story of an alcoholic detective who specialises on missing children. He soon finds out that a serial killer is on the loose, and has it for women who at some point in their lives have had extra marital affairs.
The dialogues are longer than James Cameron speeches and apparently dubbed over in post production, as is the case with Val Kilmer's character.
The whole plot is like a maze that pulls you through, introduces a side plot that in most cases, leads nowhere, but then takes you back to the main plot and spits you out to an unsatisfying and almost offensive climax.
At last, we get to see the killer and he is revealed as the step dad-slash-doctor who gives out drug prescriptions from an app like it's Christmas. We get the final showdown in which his motives are revealed as sheer hatred for women that have affairs with men other than their baby daddies.
The killer's pathology doesn't make any sense if you really think about it. He clearly has great empathy for his mother in the early segment. He also witnessed his father's brutality, that ultimately traumatised him, yet he ends up hating 'immoral' women and not 'immoral' men? It just came off as far fetched.
