To be honest, by the time the end of Insidious rolled around with its big reveal that the kid in the coma is being held by the underworld’s campest demon who basically looked like a poor boy’s Darth Maul cosplay costume, it turned out it wasn’t half the film its promising first half and frequent jump scares made it out to be.

But that scene in which poor overworked mother Renai (Rose Byrne) is going about her household chores all the while dealing with having a kid in a coma and a squad of demons and ghosts haunting her family before she’s rudely interrupted by a freaky little Victorian looking ghost child doing a jaunty little dance to the tune of Tiny Tim’s Tiptoe Through the Tulips? That was scary.
