7. Predator 2 – The Xenomorph Alien Skull
The least beloved film in the Predator franchise, the 1990 sequel went ahead minus Arnold Schwarzenegger and switched up the action from the South American jungle to urban California starring Danny Glover as an LAPD cop chasing the titular extraterrestrial.
As lacklustre a sequel Predator 2 may have been, there was a scene towards the end when Danny Glover boards the predator’s spaceship that gave us all pause for thought. After Glover discovers a trophy room in which the predators stash the severed heads of all their kills, we briefly see the unmistakable shape of a Xenomorph skull.
To any diehard comic fans, this wasn’t exactly breaking news as an Alien/Predator crossover first appeared in a Dark Horse Comics publication in 1989 but for film fans this was the first hint of a connection between the two franchises. Shame that when the two species properly came together in 2004’s Alien vs. Predator it was in an even worse movie than Predator 2.
