12 Most Underrated Things In DCEU Movies

10. The 'Pointless' Mission - Suicide Squad

Another DCEU film that sadly became a convoluted mess, Suicide Squad was actually disappointing due to how many things they actually got right without nailing the film as a a whole. While Jared Leto's Joker was wasted and the choice of Enchantress as the film's villain was a stinker, the casting was pretty much bang on. There was also a deliciously dark twist at the end of the second act that turned the film on its head.

The first two acts of the film set up the 'formation' and the subsequent first mission of the 'suicide squad', setting the criminals on the road to redemption. The establishment of Viola Davis as a rather despicable government figure helped in having us cheering for the nefarious gang, while also leading to a deliciously dark twist that was very Noir in nature.

Having navigated their way past a swarm of alien type creatures in the successful execution of their mission, they soon find out that all their sacrifices and effort were undertaken for the purpose of saving the life of Viola Davis' Amanda Waller, who found herself trapped amongst the burning buildings.

Finding out their mission was largely pointless in the grand scheme of events was a powerful kick in the guts to our antiheroes, while Waller's murder of her co workers further cemented the blurring of lines between hero and villain that should have been the centrepiece of the film.
