12 Movie Franchises You Didn't Realise Were Still Going

7. The Human Centipede

The Films You Know: The Human Centipede (First Sequence) became something of a cult sensation in 2009, with even mainstream audiences become fascinated by its premise, which revolved around a mad doctor sewing his unsuspecting victims together via anus-to-mouth surgery. Though the movie was surprisingly tame in the details, it was all about the extremely gross idea, which transformed the film from a Grindhouse-style schlock-fest into a genuinely interesting curio. You'll probably be aware that a second film, (Full Sequence), was released in 2011, filmed entirely in black and white, considerably more graphic than the original movie, and also daring to take the meta route with regard to referencing the first film. Widely panned compared to First Sequence, it was deemed to be torture porn for its own sake. The Films You Don't: But director Tom Six hasn't stopped there. The "100% politically incorrect" third film will reportedly feature a human centipede of 500 people inside a jail, and also includes B-movie master Eric Roberts among its cast. Despite being possibly one of the least commercial concepts ever committed to celluloid, Six has managed to milk three entries out of this gleefully gross idea, and despite the title being (Final Sequence), would it really surprise any of us to see a 10000-person centipede in a fourth film?
