He might not have been the only cause of Theodora's transformation into the Wicked Witch In The West, since her sister Evanora manipulates her into her final transformation, but James Franco's Oscar Diggs plays a significant part in turning her, and it's all down to his sex appeal.

Diggs is portrayed as a hopeless, scheming womaniser who manipulates his prey into falling for him, and who has developed the uncanny ability to make them fall under his spell, despite the fact that he's really not all that likeable. A smarter person would probably draw a parallel with James Franco's own career.

But it is only down to Diggs' magnetism that Theodora falls in love with him, because he basically spends his time with her flirting and encouraging her affections, despite not feeling the same about her, despite her looking like Mila Kunis. Her sister is then able to turn her heart-ache into malevolence, and Theodora's change to the Wicked Witch Of The West is complete, when Oscar could have nipped her infatuation in the bud straight away.
