12 Movie Moments Everyone Was Waiting For (That Never Happened)

3. For Mr. Potter To Get His Comeuppance - It's A Wonderful Life

Mr. Potter is the Scrooge-like antagonist of the classic Jimmy Stewart movie, It's A Wonderful Life, which tells the heart-wrenching story of a man, George Bailey, who - on the brink of suicide - is giving a chance to see what life would be like without him. Mr. Potter is pretty much the lone reason why George wants to commit suicide in the first place, by stealing his money, making fun of him, and genuinely acting like a massive, pompous douchebag. So when George finally realises that life is worth living at the climax of the movie, audiences were presumably waiting for the tired old b*stard that is Mr. Potter to get some sort of comeuppance - after all, he's the antagonist of the movie, and the reason why the whole plot had to exist in the first place. But Mr. Potter never does get any sort of comeuppance. His character is just left alone, and we're apparently supposed to just feel happy that George is okay and get petty over whether or not this evil degenerate is allowed to walk the streets. Bah, humbag.
