7. For The Part With The Crazy Ninja Dude - Kill Bill, Vol. 2

The first thought everybody presumably had when the trailer for Kill Bill, Vol. 2 landed was, "Oh, good, I'd hoped there'd be a second part for this thing," followed closely by, "What the hell is going on what that crazy black ninja dude?" Granted, any movie trailer with a crazy black ninja dude swinging a sword around is bound to make the brain curious, and yet... when Kill Bill, Vol. 2 came to theatres, this intriguing character was nowhere to be seen in the film. Not even for a second! The explanation, of course, is that he's a character from a deleted scene, as played by Michael Jai White, but for those movie-goers who poured over every inch of the trailer, the fact that he was missing became something of a bizarre mystery. Why had Tarantino slipped a shot of this man in the trailer? You can see the deleted scene on the Kill Bill, Vol. 2 DVD - it's a flashback in which Bill and the Bride are ambushed by this unsavoury ninja dude, and he's rather hilarious.
