12 Movie Moments That Pissed Fanboys Off The Most In 2016

10. Apocalypse's Death - X-Men: Apocalypse

The latest X-Men movie concludes with iconic supervillain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) being dismantled by the combined powers of the X-Men, namely Jean Grey's (Sophie Turner) Phoenix abilities.

Apocalypse's powerful armour is torn away and his human form is evaporated into dust at the end of the final battle, a highly underwhelming exit for such a beloved antagonist.

While there are no doubt countless ways for Apocalypse to be magicked back into Fox's Marvel Cinematic Universe later on, it still hurt the fanboys that one of their all-time favourite villains didn't live up to his mighty potential for most of the movie, and then got killed off in fairly unfussed fashion.

You can't blame Oscar Isaac because he was working with unspeakably generic material, but if Apocalypse was going to get killed off, it needed to be more epic and more meaningful than this.
