12 Movie Moments That Pissed Off Fans The Most In 2016
9. Crossbones Blows It - Captain America: Civil War
The issue with comic book movies is that it's tough to come up with credible threats for these super powered folk. If it comes down to a fistfight between Captain America and Red Skull - for example - an audience is inclined to believe Cap will prevail.
Which is why Frank Grillo’s Crossbones – aka Brock Rumlow - had so much potential. Even in human form Rumlow could convincingly hold his own against Cap, so his transformation into Crossbones promised major pain. He was also the character who assassinated Steve Rogers in the Civil War comic, which hinted at a potentially major event in the film.
Which is all flushed down the toilet the moment Rumlow blows himself up in the first ten minutes. Getting rid of such a promising villain so early is such a waste, and the despite being a big moment for the story it felt like a dumb move for the series.
