12 Movie Spin-Offs You Didn't Know Were Coming

3. Cruella

Release: December 23rd, 2020

Another one on the live-action Disney slate, this spin-off for arguably the studio's most iconic villain ever is coming in 2020 thanks to screenwriter Tony McNamara and I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie. Excitingly, Emma Stone is set to play the titular lead role and Emma Thompson has also reportedly signed on for an undisclosed role along with Game Of Thrones actor Joel Fry, who will play Jasper the henchman.

Cruella is obviously a very colourful character and the prequel treatment worked for Maleficent, if indeed that is the way this one's going to go too. Given the age of Fry as Jasper, there's definitely a suggestion it's set well before any Dalmatian puppies are even on the scene.

Little is known of this one other than the characters and cast, but it's been coming for six years so it should hopefully be worth the wait.
