2. There's A MacGyver Movie Coming

Dust off your paper clips and twine, because the most 1980s of 1980s TV heart-throbs is coming to the big-screen, at the same time as a pilot hitting the small screen. Is modern Hollywood ready for such an obviously period project? Possibly, but it's hard to imagine anything like Magnum PI - another show soaked in its contemporary era - translating to the kind of audiences who are actually going to like the new uber-modern Point Break. Stranger things have happened of course, but imagining how current audiences will react to a special ops agent who can solve any complex problem with whatever is to hand and his swiss army knife isn't a question I ever thought was going to be posed.
