12 Movies Everyone KNEW Were Lying

8. Avengers: Infinity War

This one film might be the exception in the list; as the film didn't lie to audiences, nor was it trying to declare a new status quo before its release.

But! If you were a child under the age of ten, or did not have knowledge of how commercially successful the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man or Black Panther were for Disney, you might think you just saw beloved characters killed off in the blink of an eye forever.

There were narrative and nostalgic reasons for Infinity War snapping away a bunch of new heroes (one last adventure for the original six) but no one was convinced that this was the end. It's hard to criticize a film that was just trying to raise the stakes or give Thanos legitimate claim as a tyrannical villain.

But on the face of it, mature audiences knew that the follow-up Avengers: Endgame would focus primarily on the original heroes trying to bring the new generation back into existence. Not to mention that sequels and follow-ups were already in pre-production at the moment Infinity War came out...

It's almost as if fans knew what was going to happen despite all of Marvel's secrecy.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
