12 Movies In 2019 That Were Unfairly Hated

8. Glass

Rocketman Devil
Universal Pictures

Glass was something of a unique movie when it was released, thanks to M. Night Shyamalan and his unorthodox shared universe building. 17 years after the brilliant Unbreakable in 2000, the director released Split as a secret sequel, something that had never been done before.

So when Glass was announced as a sequel to both of these movies, intrigue and publicity went through the roof, particularly with Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson returning to the roles of David Dunn and Elijah Price, respectively. However, the movie fell short of these incredibly high expectations.

It's fair to say that Bruce Willis isn't quite on the same level these days as he was back in 2000, and his performance in Glass was certainly not the same as in Unbreakable. It is rare for a sequel so long after the original to recapture the magic of so many years ago, however, there was still a lot to like about the movie, not least James McAvoy's incredible role as Kevin, Dennis, Patricia, Hedwig etc.

Picking up where he left off in Split, McAvoy's performance alone is enough to make Glass worth watching.
