12 Movies In 2019 That Were Unfairly Hated
7. Godzilla: King Of The Monsters
The sequel to 2014's Godzilla, and third entry in the MonsterVerse brought together the titular character, and fellow kaiju Mothra, Rodan, and the three headed behemoth, Ghodirah, for an epic showdown.
Released to mixed reviews, King of Monsters was seen by many as just another monster movie with no substance, wasting a great cast with forgettable human characters.
Yes, the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Charles Dance, and Vera Farmiga could have been utilised better, but a movie titled Godzilla: King of Monsters was never going to spend too much time building the human characters. This was about the titular monsters, particularly when considering one of the most consistent criticisms of the 2014 movie was that there wasn't enough Godzilla.
The CGI in this movie was incredible, and the beasts were compelling and injected with something of a personality, even the individual heads of Ghodirah, and above all it was incredibly entertaining. In this, King of Monsters achieved exactly what a good monster flick sets out to do.
