Gifted is the next film from Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man films, (500) Days of Summer), clearly relishing the simpler playing field of indie dramas after the high stakes, high-pressured world of blockbuster filmmaking. There's no trailer from the film as yet (or release date, for that matter), but apparently the film revolves around a man (Evans) trying to raise his deceased sister's prodigious child. Ultimately he enters into a custody battle with his own mother, whom he thinks is pushing the girl too hard because of her genius-level intellect. Evans has impressed with his dramatic skills before (just check out Snowpiercer for all the evidence you need; London is also a highly-underrated movie), so this should be another prime showcase for him.
