12. Tyrannosaur (2011)
A British drama that has nothing to do with dinosaurs and everything to do with individuals who are on the road to self destruction, Tyrranosaur charts the aftermath for a woman who has endured an abusive and extremely violent relationship for longer than anyone should be able to tolerate. This isn't something to can just flick on when you're bored at home. You have to mentally prepare yourself for it as Olivia Coleman's exceptionally authentic victim is raped by her husband and has her reproductive system tore apart by a broken glass bottle before she then brutally stabs him in an uncharacteristic rage of revenge. Despite the pleasure at seeing his death, that doesn't so much atone for what you've already been put through. The Face Slap Moment: The poor kicked-to-death dog.
