12 Movies Worth Watching Over & Over Again

9. Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope

It would be easy to fill a chunk of this list with Star Wars movies, because if you're a Star Wars fan, you're a STAR WARS FAN and you love it. There is no "like" in Star Wars. But when I was young, and my cousin showed me Star Wars for the first time, this was the one that we watched every time we saw one other. My 10-year-old self didn't even know two other movies existed until years after I saw the first one - the one that started it all. A New Hope gave us Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewy, Obi-Wan, R2D2, C3P0, Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, and - best of all - lightsabers. The opening credits themselves (which everyone in the whole world has seen) are enough to get anyone excited about whatever great adventure may follow. The story is a classic one (the hero tries to save the girl and is able to overcome insurmountable odds to win the day), but the movie opened up a whole new universe for nerds to immerse themselves in. I feel it is my job to let all of you readers know that if you have friends who have somehow never seen Star Wars, it is your civic duty to present them with this film. Seriously.
