12 Near-Miss Castings That Almost Improved The Marvel Cinematic Universe
11. David Tennant As Rocket - Guardians Of The Galaxy
Rocket Raccoon is generally perceived as having a British accent in the comic books - whether it be Cockney or Scottish - so when Bradley Cooper was cast as the little beast it was something of a shock. People tended to fancy a British actor more renowned for being funny and light-hearted than the American who - Hangover trilogy aside - isn't exactly known for his funny performances. Tennant would have been perfect for Rocket. He showed as the Doctor that he can switch between extremely funny and deadly serious with ease, while his general acting versatility has seen him portray everything from Shakespearean characters to Giacomo Casanova. Cooper actually surprised us with his voice performance as Rocket - it was pretty damn great - but Tennant would undoubtedly have been better.
