12 Predictions For "Upcoming" Sequels Ever Being Made

10. Mad Max: The Wasteland

Mad Max: Fury Road blew everybody away when it was released in the summer of 2015, and though it didn't set the box office on fire, it was a solid hit that won six Academy Awards, while also being nominated for Best Picture and Best Director.

Writer-director George Miller confirmed he had a script written for the sequel, Mad Max: The Wasteland, before Fury Road was even released. Once it did solid business, Warner Bros. gave Miller the green light.

Current Status: In November 2017, it was announced that Miller was suing Warner Bros. for a $7 million unpaid bonus following the production of Fury Road, putting plans for The Wasteland firmly in legal limbo.

How Likely Is It?: The lawsuit could very well drag on for years, and considering that Miller turns 74 early next year, there's only so much time left where he'll be physically able to helm such a demanding production.

That's to say nothing of Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, whose availability is also necessary to get the movie going. In Hardy's case in particular, he could be tough to lock down if Venom strikes it big next month.

Because Warner Bros. got greedy, the world will quite probably be deprived of a fifth Mad Max film, ensuring The Wasteland will end up on every "Best Sequels We Never Got To See" list until the end of time. 4/10
