12 Reasons Movies Were Better When You Were Younger
10. Everything Felt New & Exciting
Further to that point, you were more open-minded simply because you hadn't yet seen much of how directors could interpret the cinematic medium, and so pretty much everything felt fresh, exciting and original. While some movies have stood the test of time (say, Star Wars), that wide-eyed enthusiasm is mostly subject to when you were born and which movies came out around that time, hence why terrible movies like Batman and Robin still proved so amazing to so many impressionable kids. Cut to a few decades later, and rarely anything feels fresh or exciting anymore. You feel like you've seen practically everything that can be done with a movie camera, and if one or two movies per year actually blow your mind, then it's pretty much considered a victory. Still, with that feeling of wonder tapering off as you age, it's no surprise that so many people fondly wish they could feel that frequent sense of wonder and fulfillment they enjoyed as kids, soaking in all of these new cinematic experiences.
