12 Reasons Spider-Man: Homecoming Is The Best Spidey Movie Ever
11. Peter Actually Looks & Acts Like A Kid
One of the biggest complaints about both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's portrayals of Peter Parker is that they look nothing like actual teenagers, the actors being 26 and 28 years of age respectively when they started shooting their first Spider-Man movies.
Tom Holland, however, was just 20 years old, making him so much more convincing as the naive, optimistic, awkward kid that he is. He can't drive properly, he gets scared when things overwhelm him, and it helps the film evoke the prevailing humanity of the character.
This isn't a movie star pretending to be a kid, and so feels so much more authentic throughout as a result.
