12 Reasons Why Justice League Is Worse Than Batman V Superman
7. Superman Is Sidelined Even More
Despite Superman, you know, being in the title of Batman v Superman, it was by no means a Clark Kent movie. Following up on the events of Man of Steel, Henry Cavill was completely sidelined in his own film, with Zack Snyder instead opting to tell a Batman-orientated tale that cast Supes as a supporting player. However, even though he was barely in it, the entire plot was still built around him, with Clark's alter ego being a source of contention for the entire cast.
While you could say that of course Supes was going to be sidelined even more in Justice League, after all, he spends half of the movie rotting in his own coffin, that doesn't excuse the lack of focus the character gets when he does return. Instead of delving into the implications of bringing such a prominent figure back from the dead, the movie instead gives Clark two measly scenes to come to terms with his reanimation, and that's your lot.
The movie simply isn't interested in developing the character, and Supes immediately goes from a wrathful zombie to a noble boy scout without any explanation. A lot of people didn't like Superman's portrayal in previous movies, but removing him from the picture entirely wasn't a way to remedy this issue.
