10. Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise Of Skywalker - Finn

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker was a very, very messy conclusion to a previously strong trilogy. A film that bore the hallmarks of a very rushed, chaotic production, Episode IX struggled to wrap things up in a satisfying way and quite a few characters and plot-lines were shafted - none more so than Finn (John Boyega).

Despite being one of the main leads in both of the previous Sequel Trilogy movies, Finn was completely side-lined in Rise of Skywalker and barely contributed to the plot at all. This was beyond-infuriating, as Finn was a really good character in both of those previous films, especially thanks to Boyega's delightful performance.

Rise of Skywalker's Finn problem was perhaps exemplified by the moment when he said to Rey (Daisy Ridley) that he needs to tell her something and then this was literally never followed up on throughout the rest of the film.

It was later revealed (off-screen, weeks later, by director J.J. Abrams) that Finn was going to tell Rey that he was Force-sensitive, but such important details should be revealed in the actual film, not in behind-the-scenes interviews. Regardless, this was something else that went nowhere and one cannot blame John Boyega for being upset with Disney doing so little with his character.
