10. Suicide Squad

After the critical lambasting of Batman vs Superman, DCEU scrambled to make their movies currently in production to be somewhat a little more lighthearted and fun. This led to a weird tonal shift with Suicide Squad that not only shows within the finished film, but presents an obvious case of movie-makers not knowing what to do with big script changes.

The first trailer for Suicide Squad isn't too much of a far cry from the finished film, but it was clear that a more bleak idea was in mind when the film originally started shooting. The tone within the trailer promised a more ironically dark film; one where gunmen in panda costumes would have been memorable and not disregarded in a flashback.

This trailer came about at a time when superhero movie fans were anticipating how Jared Leto's Joker was going to be portrayed, and (at least in the trailer) he seemed to be the star of the show.

If there was one good thing that came out the finished film, it was the clearly more lively and playful Harley Quinn. One we probably wouldn't have gotten if the film stuck to the original plan.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
