After the delightful first Fantastic Beasts film, any fan of the Harry Potter universe would have been astounded to learn there would be more films to come, and the story of Newt Scamander was to be explored more. When the first trailer debuted it came as no surprise that it was a hot talking point.

The trailer gave us a first look at a young (and sexy) Albus Dumbledore, our favorite characters from the first film were returning, and there was certainly going to be more fantastic beasts for us to coo over. The marketing for Fantastic Beasts has always been great, which probably explains why the trailer was better than the film.

It's such a shame that the movie itself was less of a let-down and more of a head-scratcher. The plot was insanely difficult to follow, the effects and wand-battles didn't make sense even at the most subtle times, and all the promise of a hot Dumbledore amounted to what we saw in the trailer.

The wonder and excitement we get from the Wizarding World seemed to have been stripped in exchange for two counts of infanticide, confusing exposition and a finishing battle that looked like something from Fantasia.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
