A real problem the DC movies have had is keeping spoilers and plot plots hidden from fans. Not through script leaks or guerrilla photography from the sets, but from their own damn marketing team.

The second official trailer to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (or BvS for short) might be the best movie in the DC Universe because it's 3 minutes long and it tells audiences all they need to know. Like a recap video from a returning TV show, all the cards are laid out on the table.

The thundering music playing over glimpses of conflict (and then later teamwork) are the best things about this trailer. Whatever your opinions on the full BvS movie might be, the promo gives you enough agency to fill in the blanks far more creatively than the movie itself did.

There's no cutaways to disgruntled former employees of Wayne Enterprises, no Bruce Wayne experiencing dreams within dreams, and no Henry Cavill climbing into a bath fully clothed (except for his shirt).

Trailers are meant to show us some of the best bits to entice us in to see the full thing. In this case we got ALL the best bits already.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
