Enough things have been said about the latest Star Wars film, that to resurrect the conversation about it would be just re-opening the wounds fans have spent four months trying to close.

Having said that, comparing the finished product to the very first teaser trailer does remind us of how much hope we had for the third film in the new trilogy to stick the landing.

The trailer excites us from the jump when Rey performs a backwards leap onto Kylo Ren's ship, followed by the Millennium Falcon whizzing around only to be revealed it's being piloted by fan-favorite Lando. With Luke Skywalker's voice-over, offering sage advice once again, it felt like Star Wars was coming home once again with everything we loved returning to cap off 2019.

Whether you liked The Emperor's return or not, hearing his wheezing cackle at the end of the teaser was enough to get the internet talking and unfortunately that feeling didn't transcend when audiences left the movie theaters.

The infamous John Williams' score echoes throughout the trailer and in between shots of a lightsabre or a droid, it looked like for a second Episode IX was going to be a home-run.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
