5. The Subway Ghost - Ghost
In
Ghost, banker Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) is killed during a struggle with an armed thug. His ghost is seen to rise from his lifeless body and the rest of the film sees Sam coming to terms with and adapting to being a ghost, whilst also using his ability to speak to medium Oda Mae Brown (Whoopie Goldberg) to ensure the safety of his girlfriend Molly Jensen (Demi Moore). Anyway, during Sam's tenure as a ghost, he finds himself on the New York subway. It becomes apparent that one member of the carriage can see him - and that's because he is also a ghost. The subway ghost (Vincent Schiavelli) is an aggressive poltergeist who likes nothing better than spooking the carefree passengers in various ways, such as walking past and hitting them, to get his afterlife kicks. Sam, seeing that the ghost can touch solid objects, asks him to teach him how to do it. After initially refusing, the poltergeist decides to aid Sam and, ultimately, successfully does so. Sam then utilises his newfound ability to spook those who are compromising the safety of his girlfriend.
