4. Pennywise the Dancing Clown - It
One of
the classic horror villains is the terrifying Stephen King creation from the TV mini-series/movie
It; Pennywise. Pennywise is a shape-shifting, reality-warping higher being whose true form is that of a giant spider-like creature. He takes the form of a clown for a majority of the time due to his penchant for killing children, as a clown is something that draws children in. In the movie, Pennywise terrorises a small town in Maine every 30 years. In 1960, he preys on a group of children who are known as 'The Losers Club' (by ripping their arms off and such) who succeed in killing him, albeit temporarily, and he swears vengeance on them. 30 years later, when they are all adults, he returns to carry out the revenge he had promised. His return prompts the reformation of The Losers Club. Pennywise doesn't have as much control over them as adults, so he manipulates others in to terrorising them in various ways, until the final face-off with the group in his gigantic spider form. He is ultimately killed when one member of the group - Bill - rips out his heart.
